I am sorry to have to say it, but Wangaratta City dry cleaners have possibly the worst attitude to customers I have ever seen.
  • Samuel

"oh we thought you knew already".

I asked them why I would pay $20 to get a suit with holes in it dry cleaned. Did they seriously think I was going to wear an obviously wrecked suit to a wedding?

"How could we know you were going to wear it to a wedding?"

I would have given them zero stars, but it wasn't an option. So regrettably, I give them half a star. Reason I am posting now, a year and a half later, is because last week they trashed a $200 jacket my mum took there to clean (she obviously wasn't sure which dry cleaner shop I was cursing last time).

I wouldn't have minded if they'd just told me "gee, sorry mate, your suit has moth holes", so I would realise then and not at the last moment that I didn't have a suit to wear to my brother's wedding. I would have thanked them.

Sure enough, they gave it back to her without a word.

OK, I asked them, did they think I was going to wear it to work? Did they think I would like to wear a suit with big holes in it all around town?

Their reply: "A lot of people wear suits with moth holes in them".

But no, they just didn't bother. Lucky I checked the suit BEFORE leaving for cairns.

My recommendation: If you DON'T think it's normal to wear clothes with moth holes to weddings or your office, and if you DO want to be taken care of by a drycleaner that will show you a little respect, DON'T use these guys.

I took my favourite suit in to get dry cleaned before leaving to Cairns for my brother Dominic's wedding in April 2009. I picked up the suit, took it straight home and took it out of the plastic wrap, to have a look, then noticed that it had big, visible holes on the legs, that looked like they'd been rubbed through by a machine.

But I couldn't get over them seeing the holes, and saying "oh yes, we saw those holes" and not bothering to tell me. I asked them why they didn't say anything, just took my money and gave me the unwearable, holed suit back, and they told me -- get this:

It was a surprise for me, a first time to get moth holes in my suit. But it was a much bigger surprise to find that a dry cleaner would give back a damaged suit without so much as a by the way.

I took it back and showed them, and they said yes, they'd seen the holes, they were moth holes. I told them I didn't believe them, that I thought their machines had damaged my pants, and they told me that when moths eat clothes, you often can't tell until you get them cleaned, when the chewed bits fall apart. My Auntie since told me the same, so fair enough, it wasn't their fault.
